Town News: Dredging Update Feb 8 2019

Spring is in the air and people have boating fever. Please remember we are currently conducting a dredge project. Heritage Harbor work should be completed by the end of February based on the current schedule. The contractor will then move into Harbor Acres.  Harbor Acres canal property owners should prepare to remove their boats from canals and from any lifts over the canals. Also, owners should swing their docks out of the way if possible.

Town News: Dredging & Town Anniversary

Dredging – Heritage Harbor Due to the size of the dredge, the contractor has asked that boats on lifts in Heritage Harbor be removed before dredging begins. This will allow for a better dredge in this set of canals as the dredge follows the designed template. The contractor anticipates beginning work in Heritage Harbor in February. Please accommodate the request at your earliest convenience. 50th Anniversary Events “Time” to Celebrate: Join us on February 14th at 2:00 p.m. in the Town Hall Public

Town News: December 11, 2018

Town of Holden Beach Newsletter Canal Dredging Underway Canal dredging operations have begun. The dredge “Patricia Sanderson” started work in the Holden Beach Harbor feeder canal late last week. Currently, the dredge is working near the northern end of Durham Street, heading west in the feeder canal. Operations are proceeding well despite the rough weather over the weekend. If you haven’t taken care of making arrangements to move in water boats, you need to do so as soon as possible.

Town of Holden Beach Newsletter December 7, 2018 Yard Debris Pick-up There will not be a second yard debris pick-up this month. The last collection for this year will take place on Friday, December 14th. Trash Collection There will be no trash pick-up on Christmas day, instead Waste Industries will collect trash on Saturday, December 29th.

Town News: Hurricane Michael Advisory 2

Town of Holden Beach From the Mayor’s Desk 10/10/2018 Hurricane Michael Advisory Tomorrow morning (October 11, 2018 at 8:00 a.m.) Holden Beach will be under a declared emergency status due to the potential impact of Hurricane Michael. Winds tomorrow will increase with gusts potentially 50 (+ -) MPH. Remember the bridge will close if sustained winds are 45 MPH or more. Three (+ -) inches of rain may fall tomorrow with tides possible up to three feet higher than normal.

Town News: Dog Park Closed

The Town of Holden Beach has announced the Holden Beach Dog Park is currently closed until further notice.  The park is closed due to canal dredging work being done in the area.  They anticipate the park being closed throughout the off-season, until at least Memorial Day. Town News: Yard Debris Pickup

Regular Scheduled Yard Debris Pickup The regularly scheduled yard debris pickup for this Friday will remain in effect. If you have your items properly bundled and out already, it may be picked up by our contractor prior to Friday.
